i love my mamaw and papaw. today they were talkin' about how they "pulled off" when they were little kids. "pulled off" is the term they use to talk about the time of year that it was warm enough til they put away their winter shoes and then went barefoot all the time up until the fall

most of the appalachian culture where i'm from has to do with coal mines. there are no tobacco farms or anything. it's too mountainous.
