Last night I started working on the next yet-unnumbered chapter, and I intended to finish it today. But it's been so fucking hot. It's looked cloudy the past couple days, but now I realize because, with the relatively rainy, temperate summers we've had the past few years, I'd forgotten what smog looks like ( Read more... )

Well, the heat does come from the Gulf of Mexico, so…thanks guys, I guess. I could see the Dallas area being humid. Is it humid in San An too? The humidity's always the killer. But we did have a few rainy summers that kept the temperatures and the smog at bay. Luckily we got a few sun showers this evening, so it helped cool things off a tad. And of course it's nice to take a deep breath and get that rainy-day aroma, as opposed to the stench of suburban commuters. I'd say the smog blew in from Hamilton or Pittsburgh, but there was no wind so it obviously was all us. And by 'us' I mean the suburban commuters, since the manufacturing sector here is dead ( ... )
