Today's proverb: Don't mistake beauty for depth. Don't look into a lake hoping to find the answers to life at the bottom. Be grateful for the fucking lake

I've always wondered about proverbs. Why some are inciteful no matter the perspective, and some don't make any sense give varying view points. What if you want to know what lives in the lake? What kind of plants are in it, what it's like to swim in it, or float across it in a boat? Once the initial thrill and appreciate for the lake become familiar, you move on to finding thrills in new aspects, learn to appreciate different things about the lake.

The lake has piranhas in it. Mean piranhas. Piranhas having bad days.

I wonder if the piranhas attack without being provoked. Or simply... on the invasion of their territory?
