Gloating, garden (and a bit 'o work)

Last night the temperature got down to around 55. We were able to open the windows and they're still open now at almost 11am. A nice, breezy 70 outside. I am *SO* happy about choosing Coshocton as a place to settle down. Went out and watered the plants as it's been unusually dry for us here lately and picked a mess of green beans. Although we really liked Austin, the heat was just too much for me. There were a good three months where I simply hated going outside.

And you got a much better deal on a house than you would here. Though there is a house up for sale just a few doors down; think how much fun could be had if you lived on my block.

We actually looked at your neighborhood for just that reason, Phil. :) It would have been awesome to live within easy walking distance of each other.

But the house we got was half what we would have paid and we got 1/4 acre and 1450 sq feet. It's not big, but that's plenty of space for just Suzi and I. Add in only $1200 a year in property taxes and insurance, and average of only $150 a month for all utilities and we had to go with the wiser financial choice over the more fun choice.

But we did look, and I tried to pick the more fun choice, but my practical side won in end.
