I gotta say...

So far, 2008 has not been so good. My grandma died this morning. And although it was expected, we were all taken a little off guard. She was very old and she didn't know most of us anymore, and she was unhappy a lot, so I can't say that I'm sorry she has passed. She outlived all her siblings, her husband, and even some of her children and ( Read more... )

BTW - the "Crank that Curry" video you posted? Gave me the best damn laugh earlier. ^__^

Oh, sweetheart. I'm so sorry. *hugs* It's never easy. Even when it's someone a lot older, who we just know isn't going to be around all that much longer. There's still no way to quote-unquote prepare for the death of someone we love.

And eep, yes. Nothing like making arrangements to make you contemplate mortality and adulthood and other scary, scary things.

*hugs again*

But to completely pull a one-eighty: OMG, Spike in a handbag! *focuses on teh kitteh and giggles*

Thank you. It's weird that I was closer to my grandma than my cousin (who recently passed) but my grandmother's death doesn't upset me as much. I guess because she lived such a long, full life; it wasn't as tragic.

Spike is the bestest kitty! JP was distracting me last night by trying to teach Spike how to balance on my giant pilates ball. *grin* He did good!

*hugs* I am sorry about your grandmother. Even if it's the "right" time to die dealing with all the after is stressful and hard.

Ah here are some pretty hats to look at!

*HUGS*

Thank you. If I may make a morbid joke...my family never does ANYTHING alone (we tend to marry, give birth, and kick off in pairs or trios). So, when my cousin passed away, I think I was subconsciously expecting something.

Still, everyone is holding up pretty good and I can't ask for more than that.

The hats! I totally want the Marie Antoinette stripe-y one (although the pirate one is mighty tempting).

Did you ever watch Teletubbies? If so, you'll get this. *biiiiiiig huuuuugggggg* Even when it's "expected" or the right time, it's still difficult to deal with a family member's passing. My thoughts are with you.

Spike is a cutie. Bless animals and their ability to sense when we need cheering up.

Aw...

*hugs*

Thank you - we are trying to do it all quickly. My sister is the very best; between her and I, we are doing all the practical cleaning/calling/driving/gathering photos type stuff that Mom isn't quite up to handling. If I had to do all that by myself, I'd be pulling out my hair.

Spike is wicked smart! That kind of makes him a pain sometimes (when he gets bored, he wreaks havoc on the house) but it also makes him the most fun. I swear JP is training him for the circus or something...

I'm glad your sister is helping you with all that's need to be done. You both are so sweet, even though it can't be easy for anyone in your fam. You're one tough - and sweet, hehe - cookie. Thinking of you.
