I have a hernia in the webbing of my thumb. I think that if you have veins you can get hernias.

Ouch. Did not know this. LJ is so educational.

It's SO wonderful to hear from and of you! I've been thinking about you for weeks now, what with the start of school, and in that well-intentioned way wherein the road leads to hell, I'd meant to drop you an email. Of course, I haven't. I apologize for my lameness ( ... )

Novel is far away from being red-penciled, but I will keep you in mind. Thank you.

School is school...the beginning of the year is...well, you know.

I've decided that I am not going to spend 60 hours at end of terms marking so I've slimmed down the assignments to things that are easy to mark. The sign of a tired teacher...and one who is fed up.

Glad to hear you're well. I intend to be soon. I so miss my exercise routine!

Glad to hear you are "semi" ok...well still kicking so to speak.
I know what you mean about the elections. I almost wish there was a "none of the above" space. Of course then we would be left in more total chaos than we are at the moment. I wish they would put a spending limit on what candidates could spend to "buy" the election. Maybe then we would actually get someone who cared about the little guy instead of themselves.
Anyway, take care of yourself. Just let us know periodically that you are still around.

"None of the above" would be running the government if s/he were available.

Sorry to hear about the health problems. My uncomfortable/annoying hip replacement (13 yrs plus) has become painful enough that I have to do something about it. Starting with purchasing and using a cane. However that means I'm doing MORE fanfic reading than usual since sitting is the least painful activity I can have ( ... )

Supply teachers...here it's wait for the call from 6 am on, until the end of day.

Yes, I know what you mean, about voting non-Liberal. Unfirtunately the candidates themselves in this riding are not...well, what would be the polite term? Nothing to place one's confidence in.

Book on the bookshelf? OMG! Let me just get the second draft done and see if it makes sense first. LOL! (Thanks for the encouragement.)

Ooh, lovely to see you! I was wondering how you were doing.

6. Also seem to be off reading LJ. I'm on dial-up and since they added that "May contain adult, etc., etc." thing, I have a lot of trouble accessing your posts. Not to mention that I no longer get notification of your comments. Yes, I suppose I should upgrade to a faster service, but since I never know from one year to another if I am going to have work, and if so, how much, I am sticking to dial-up.

If you are getting those "May contain adult..." messages, then an easy way to get rid of them is to go to your profile and add in the year of your birth to your birth date. You can choose not to make it visible to the public.

I hate putting my birth date into anything online, but I gave up and did it just so I wouldn't have to deal with those messages anymore.

*hugs*

I've missed you!

Sorry to hear that you're falling out of fandom. I feel the same pull, myself. Only the people keep me here. ;)

I've tried the birthday thing...several times...and I can't get it to work for me. Just like I can't get comments notification for this LJ.

As for falling out of fandom, I think it's just the fact that I really can't read at the screen comfortably. Once I have that straightened out, I'll probably find myself reading again.

Argh! I'm sorry for your computer woes.

And I hope you feel better again, and soon!
