I've always called my cat, Misty, a grey tabby, because she's mostly grey with faint grey stripes & spots, and because I didn't know what else to call her. She wasn't one of the obvious, well-known breeds, like a Siamese or Persian. She just looked a little like a monochrome Garfield.  In fact, her full name is Small Tiger In The Mist because of ( Read more... )

Awwww, Misty is so pretty (and has one of the best cat names I've ever heard). I'm really sorry that she's sick.

It would be really neat if she was part Mao; they are such a neat, rare breed. It's a shame there isn't a feline equivalent of the genetic test you can get to determine a dog's breed makeup! I've heard that Maos are really nice cats to live with.

Good luck with Misty's health.

well, Misty is certainly a nice cat to live with :-) She's cuddly and affectionate, naturally litter-trained, requires no fur-maintenance on my part, is talkative and interactive, yet content to amuse herself or sleep when I'm busy, so long as we're in the same room. She's strictly indoor, and no longer bolts for the door to explore outside. She really only did that while we were travelling in the bus together (which freaked me right the fuck out - if she's gonna attempt to explore, the worst time is when we're on the road & not in familiar place, or returning to any place!), and very, very rarely does it now. When she does, she only goes a few feet & stops to investigate, so she's easy to catch.

Her only possible difficulty is her clinginess, which can be stressful on both of us when I'm working a lot.
