Gardasil does the same thing in boys as it does in girls. It prevents the HPV virus from bonding to cells and replicating.

FUCK YEAH SEAKING!

Uh... are they approving it for all 4 strains that females get vaccinated for?

Also, does this mean they've approved a test for males as well?

Either way, GOOD NEWS! I'm going to go hit up PP or UCF or whoever has it first fuckin' ASAP.

I do not believe they have a test for males yet, which is still unfortunate. Since this article makes a point to speak only of warts, it could mean that the FDA approval is only to claim that the 2 wart-causing strains included in the vaccine are the only strains Merck can make any claims about, legally.

However, it's still Gardasil, so it's still the same 4 strains in the vaccine as the girls that you'll be getting.

It seems like it's all 4 strains, since it still requires all 3 shots. However, with that $400 price tag attached, the ability of me and my collegiate compatriots to get the vaccine seem rather slim. Hopefully, my parents insurance will cover it. We'll have to see.... :\

Yep, that price tag is rather daunting, which is why I'm so glad to see it as FDA approved now. This means that *some* insurance companies *will* cover it. You could have always gotten the vaccine off-label. It's the approval that makes it possible to get financial assistance.
