Photoshoot: Ethel Hallow

First shoot of the year! Hurrah!

Wednesday just gone I did a small shoot at Paul's Studio with Ethel Hallow. Partially it was a recon exercise for future days and partially just some fun. We didn't get through many ideas - Ethel didn't even swap outfit - but it was a nice warmup to this year's photography.

A lot of the images were shot on a white background for eventual Photoshopping, and hence I won't present them here. But something I was keen to see was the mad new wallpaper Paul has installed, which I can share here:

The roof is a Photoshop addition but essentially that is the madness of the room. And also check out those heels while you're there. (For those who are interested in such things, this is two soft-boxes and a 10mm lens.)

We played around with a few other ideas, leading to this odd, slightly grotesque image:

It actually makes a fantastic close-up.

There should be some other slightly lighter edits to come too, with less wallpaper.

I really like what Paul's done with the studio; it would be nice if it was a bit bigger, but there's an amazing amount you can do with the space.

Recently I've been mostly posting techie stuff so it's pleasing to have some new photos to go up. And without wishing to curse any of it, I have some interesting shoots planned through to May too. It's going to get expensive with makeup artists and studios, but here's hoping for some interesting development this year.

And for those of you hoping for something more techie, I'm still suffering from ongoing network problems but extensive testing suggests it's either Virgin Media corrupting my data or more likely the cable modem is dying fast. There's a support call coming which I'm really not going to enjoy making.
