I have heard bits of this article, but I've never had the stomach to sit down and read it all the way through until now.

God help us. Have people lost their minds? I mean, seriously lost it?

I don't even have the strength to formulate a reply to this guy. I see the comments are over 1,200. Hopefully others have stepped up and responded. I just can't.

I'm afraid I must plead a sad lack of "antennae." I think my neocortex, which allows me to reason logically, took up the space that would otherwise have gone into them.

Bless your heart for making me laugh in the midst of this. Because this is insanity on a level that I've never seen before.

i posted up precisely this article (in conservatism or libertarianism. the leftist insta-defense reaction was that the columnist was just being over-the-top humorous.

ya. right. like one doesn't see the unnatural shine in the eye all the time.

Last time I saw a leftist comment on it, they were inquiring severely whether a previous commenter was making fun of New Age religion by being dubious about Obama-as-Lightworker.

ROFLMAO!

Is it even relevant to point out that Obama has not, in fact, worked anything, Light or Dark? He has no legislative achievements to his credit!

yeah... one of my friends was saying that I should look beyond what he says to what he has done.

What *has* he done? Besides talk empty, string platitudes together into speeches, weave verbal cats cradles and refuse to take a stance on anything, since those things just absolutely SCREAM at me?

The ObaMessiah phenomenon. *shakes head* What are these people using for brains? Nevermind, I don't want to know.

What I'm watching here is rather interesting, though. Remember how Hillary thought, early on, that the campaign was pretty much a formality and all she had to do was show up and get the nomination? I see Obama's people acting the same way, as if this election is a fait accompli and McCain might as well stay home. I sincerely hope it backfires on Obama as badly as it did on Clinton.

Then, of course, we'll have to deal with the Democrats insisting for years to come that McCain "stole" the election. But that would be better than having to deal with an Obama Presidency. Among his policies would be cutting off American manned space exploration and missile defense at the knees, and those are not programs you can just stop and start randomly and still expect to make progress with.

Boo hoo, they've been whining that Bush stole the election for eight years now, cry me a freakin' river. I'm pretty sure it hasn't made any difference in Bush's policies. As much as I may have to hold my nose to vote for McCain (and I still have the luxury of being undecided, because I live in Utah and he'll get a good 60% of the vote here anyway), an Obama presidency, IMO, would be an unmitigated disaster. *shudder*

frankly, I'm starting to think we should HAVE the unmitigated disaster. Maybe the next five generations won't vote Democrat / won't vote for charismatic smooth talking hidden-agenda people.

It's interesting to note, for a post focused on how much positivity Obama will engender, how many insults, put-downs, and off-topic snarky asides Mr. Morford managed to fit in his article.

Say, that's a very good point -- and one I mostly missed!

For instance, ranting against the CIA and the "war machine" with regard to JFK, and claiming that Bush had laid the country "waste."

Thanks!

Needless little digs on the "coweringly religious" were what got me looking- but there's enough there for just about everyone.

Is this article serious, or some sort of weird parody? It reminds me of how people talk when they're really, really stoned.

Based on the full article, which I linked to in my post, I must conclude that Morford was completely serious.

You can never exaggerate something for parody's sake as a True Believer will and be dead serious. I've seen this with Young Earth Creationists, Perotistas, and Mackinistas.
