Keep Tony Zirkle out of the Congress!

I am a Republican. I have fought all my life against the false belief that the Republicans are in some way sympathetic to the Nazis, or fascists in general ( Read more... )

This is fascinating as it pretty much comes down to two scenarios ... either the guy is a closet fascist and he's blowing smoke about speaking to this "leftist" sounding organization, or he's "Jessica Simpson" (buffalo wing) CLUELESS about "NAZI"="N.S.D.A.P." ... given the state of education these days, I'm betting it's the latter.

*wince* even if it's due to ignorance rather than any real nazi sympathy, wouldn't that make him too ignorant to hold office?

Indeed. The other thing I don't get about this is ... didn't he have anyone in his office who knew who these people were, and why he shouldn't associate with them?

You'd think the "white women" bit would have tipped him off... I'm pretty sure pornography and prostitution aren't limited to caucasians

They should expel him, but will they?

There are too many freaks on either side of the line in politics for me to trust either of the Big 2 with leadership of the nation any more.

Unfortunately you can't kick someone out of the party. As long as they pay the dues you have to let them in.

Just like GM suffering Michael Moore as a "shareholder" for all those years.

Actually, you don't even have to pay dues; as far as I know, all that's required to run as a Republican, a Democrat, or as any other party is to simply declare your party affiliation at the time you register to be on the ballot.

The parties can deny you funding and support, and can publicly criticize or disassociate themselves with you, but they can't prevent you from calling yourself whatever you want.

Kind of like "You can pick your friends; you can't pick your relatives."?

Furry Fandom has suffered from something similar for years. Crazy after crazy -- Zoos, Babyfurs, Plushf*ckers, Wangsters, etc -- have glommed onto the fandom as a cover for their sexual kink du jour, and always seem to parade their kinks before the media types. There is only so much you can do to distance yourself from a no-life crazy wanker who spends 24/7/365 loudly proclaiming to everybody that He's One Of You.
