On the Milwaukee Riots

Aug 14, 2016 10:51

From what I can tell it was a good shooting, and the main problem is that the Mayor has been acting with "restraint" in dealing with the rioters. The job of city officials in a riot is to make sure the cops break heads, shoot to kill (if necessary, take out the ringleaders with snipers) if things get out of control, and haul the scum off to jail ( Read more... )

As opposed to having your city sacked by barbarians? Yeah. Police state *sucks*, but it's not the absolute worst thing, killing those that loot stores, beat the innocent, and burn down city blocks is by *far* preferable to letting them have free reign and even rewarding such behavior!

And yet, the reason for the Second Amendment is to allow Americans to be able to push back on their police in that manner to keep the government from getting too powerful.

correct. And I would absolutely be supporting BLM *IF* any of their rallying cries fact checked. But they don't. Black people aren't killed inappropriately by the police more than anyone else.

There is literally no metric, when controls are applied that indicates that the US suffers from racist *anywhere* in the justice system.

I am judging BLM, not on the violence, violence is a tool, the legitimacy of the application of which depends on the rightness of your cause. BLM has no righteous cause.

That's exactly what political correctness is. Several groups (African Americans and Muslims especially) are "above criticism" and should you dare say anything remotely bad about them, you get called a racist or bigot. It's almost to where those two terms are losing their meaning because they're not used to describe legitimate racism and bigotry anymore but are merely used to describe people with a different opinion.

Actually, according to a recent harvard study, police are 20% *more* likely to shoot a white suspect than a black one. Now, they're 20% more likely to use other, nonlethal force on blacks, but which would you rather be, put in handcuffs, or shot?

Predictably, both sides are cherry picking the data, and most of them are wildly misrepresenting it, 20% more likely to shoot whites than blacks is not "no racial bias", and the data going both ways is not "anti-black police bias in the use of force"

Pointing out the far more frequent black-on-black crimes goes against their agenda of portraying the "po-lice" as evil. Blacks are more likely to be killed by..... other blacks.

My own preference would be to have the Fire Department set their hose nozzles on Spray and aim above the rioters, as should have been done to the Occupy Anybody Antiterrorist crowds.

Cold wet people do not riot well.

Melissa Harris-Perry would probably say that snow is racist because it's white. XD

I thought it was a case of racism until I read two things:

1. The guy who got shot came out pointing a gun at the cop.
2. The cop who shot the guy was also black.

Nope nope nope. No racism this time. Just a cop doing his job. If you point a gun at the police, what do you expect?

I'm sorry, well, not really, but your comment is actual racism and shows distinct bias ( ... )

To be fair unlike the vast majority of kitten's political affiliation kitten actually stopped and considered the facts.

Too little, too late. She considered the facts AFTER having automatically jumped to conclusions. That shows an immense amount of bias. A normal person would wait on the facts of the case, before making any assumptions. However, we all know that a certain group of people (and I'm not speaking of people of a certain skin colour, but of ideology), immediately jump onto their preconceived notions ( ... )
