Mark Steyn was mocking this ninny full force today during his guest stint on Rush Limbaugh's show.

Mark Steyn makes me want to vomit. I blame Dan Simmons for that.

I was thinking of Weimar Germany myself.

I am not an economist, and this lady is clearly no expert, either. While the analogy of household spending and government spending is false, as she correctly points out, the government cannot have an infinite deficit either.

That being said, I want to lock everyone in Congress in their legislative chambers without food, water, or bathroom access until they come up with a way to raise the budget deficit. America does not deserve to be flushed down the toilet because a bunch of power-mad idiots refuse to compromise. That goes equally for both parties.

Yes, both of them! Compromise is essential to government and I'd like to take several members of the GOP and flush them and give them swirlies until they recall this. Why the good old swirlie? Because they are acting about the right age for one. Swirlies for anyone who refuses to budge one inch. That refusal to budge is fine for middle school, not so great for government.

But the refusal to budge is awesome if you are standing at the very edge of a cliff and the compromise between your position and the Democrat position is five paces forward instead of ten.

The Republicans have a solution that they call "Cut, Cap, Balance", and on that solution they are willing to raise the limit. Obama has already promised to veto it.

Is she trying to prove that women really are but children of a larger growth?

With our husband's (or our own) credit cards! After all, it's just a piece of plastic. It's not like there are any consequences for being overdrawn or unable to make payments.

Aw, I thought Marxist-wannabes like her weren't supposed to go shopping. (Aren't they the ones who always max out their credit cards?)

Want to know which part of it gets me?

"The mantra that “the budget must be balanced” is a throwback to the 19th century, originating from the same outmoded economic thinking that justifies women’s lower wages."

So what's the correlation between a balanced budget and lower wages for women? They both came out of a prior era. That's it.

Isn't it brilliant? Orwellian.

The Left has been doing this for a couple of decades now. "You want that?!? That happened during racism. Therefore you must be a racist!" It's the same Marxist then Alinsky class/race warfare.

Yeah? You know what else happened during racism? Abolitionists. Sliced bread. Pants. Hitler ate sugar. (It's a TV Trope name. :) )

So much of the Leftist thought process can be so easily turned around on them. Then they invariably retreat to "It's right in my position because I'm right, but it's wrong in yours because you're wrong." Which is an insanity from which you cannot reach them... all you can do with such people is help others see just how irrational they are.

Ha! Dead on.

From a favorite work on the subject:
"So what you're left with is not really adults, but citizens of voting age who cannot judge their own positions but are virulently antagonistic to any position other than their own."
