Why We Must Beat Obama

Introduction

There's been a lot of talk about the list of likely Republican Presidential candidates for 2012 being disappointing. I know I'm disappointed: I see no one who I would describe as even remotely "libertarian" who is not simultaneously isolationist to the point of trying to deny the existence of the rest of the world beyond American ( Read more... )

You are forgetting one big thing when it comes to the TG things.

In general the GOP wants to force me into the men's room for necessary matters. The last two times I tried to comply with this fact in a red state, I was assaulted. One time involved me beaten even worse than that video meme of the attack in the McDonald's. The right side of my face is partially paralyzed to this day as a result of the attack.

... Can you provide me with some example of the GOP "force me into the men's room for necessary matters"? legislation or anything like that?

Legally speaking if a state does not recognize gender identity, it is a state that legally, I have to enter the men's room, not the women's. It is possible, and has happened to me, in which the cops will be called to arrest you for this.

You can also just do a google search for 'Bathroom bill' and get a bunch of news articles in which the GOP uses the bathroom issue on anything related to TG. Usually the scare tactics work like this.

~If we let TG people into the opposite sex bathrooms, what's to stop a pedophile from declaring themself TG and using it to rape little girls~

Since your opening to every post appears to be "Hi I'm transgendered and the GOP/religious are mean to me" I imagine this is inevitable, so I might as well get it over with now.

However, my personal experience very much dictates dramatically otherwise when it comes to being allowed to live my life as I see fit.

Please specify other than below, because they are insufficient.

You claim their attempt to curtail gay marriage hampers you, which is immediately addressed as not being the case. If your birth was recognized as ambiguous I'm fairly certain you can have it legally defined fairly simply. You also say it depends on what document one references, in which case you need just submit the one you prefer. It sounds like you are creating an issue and sense of oppression. You even volunteer, "Now, I doubt that is going to be the end result"

If you are referring to you getting to wander into whatever bathroom you wish I can't really sympathize with you there.

No, I can't. In fact, the case that's caused the law change to be brought up in Texas involves an intersexed person, not a transsexual person. Texas is putting into law that the original birth certificate, no matter any external circumstances, is the original one, period. Zero exceptions even for medically and medically diagnosed conditions. That is to say, evident in DNA/physiology, not just 'in the head'. Even if is amended or fixed later, the only one legally viable is the original unmodified/uncorrected one.

the law is intended to prevent harmful issues. You make the conscious choice to consider it an assault on you. Unless you are a pedo it clearly isn't.

I don't really understand this section so I can't really comment on it at all.

I can't imagine what is confusing.

You claim "GOP wants to force me into the men's room". Maybe you don't realize this but you are making an accusation that the intent of the law is to force you and people like you into the men's room. It is not. That is a lie or a misperception. The law is to prevent pedophiles from victimizing innocents, as you even explain.

This would be like me telling you I want to put screens in my attic vents to keep bats from flying in, and you then telling my neighbor that I hate birds. Yes, birds also cannot fly in, but that was not why I put in the screens. If you tell the neighbor it's about the birds the error is yours. If you claim I'm out to oppress birds you're being nutty.

If you still do not understand now, with all due respect, I don't think you want to.

This was not the case. This occurred before I 'switched'. I looked like a rather effeminate male. Legally on my identification it still said male. The man that assaulted me tried to flirt with me and offered to take me out for a drink. I politely declined and told him I wasn't his type. Once he realized what I was, he got visibly irate (he thought I was female until I replied), but didn't do anything right away. However he apparently saw fit to follow me into the men's room and beat me half to death.

This description fits none of your previous claims. You offered us 1) red state men's room assault for being in men's room and 2) ladies room arrest for being in ladies room. NEITHER of these stories match those.

You were not beat up for being in a mens room, as you asserted. You were beat up because a guy targeted you for an interaction outside the bathroom. He could have as easily cornered you in a hallway. The bathroom is incidental to the story.

You are assuming the people around me that called the police on me didn't know who ( ... )

I will make a third attempt. Please contact me outside of this LJ entry. There is no reason to continue clogging Jordan's LJ and email box with our discussion.

While I don't want his page clogged, you leveled bigoted and apparently inaccurate accusations based on stories that were misrepresented or grossly misunderstood.

Since there is ABSOLUTELY no question you'll be making the same accusations and misrepresenting the same stories again I think you should defend the inaccuracies publicly.

This is little different than if I said I don't like gays because I know they rape men because a couple tried to rape me, only to reveal that they actually bought me a drink, I get called on it, then I ask to discuss it elsewhere.

The point is I want to discourage misrepresentation, bigotry and smearing a political party. A private conversation doesn't do that.

If you'd prefer, we can do it on my page. Here is a post buried a couple of days back.

You are making accusations about accusations I am not making. I don't even know where to begin with your assertions.

Edit: You are asking me to answer loaded questions about your interpretations about things I've said that are incorrect from the start. There's no way I can get anywhere now, because the level of misunderstanding is so thick as to be non productive. I seriously, literally do not even know where to begin.

This response is a shame but comes as absolutely no surprise.

Believe me when I say I understand the response completely. Not agree with. Understand. I understand it and its meaning.

I would ask that you not smear the GOP or "red states", because it's wrong. If you do and I see it I'll likely call you on it again.

Here you go again. You make accusations about the GOP and laws, then say you're misrepresented or misunderstood. More victimhood. You say that melvin's questions are 'loaded' and claim that it's YOU who are misunderstood, when every single damn time you bring up your I WAS NEARLY KILLED BY A GAY HATING CHRISTIAN story, you pull it out to emphasize how evil Christians are, how bigoted they are, and how evil they are because of how miserable your life is, and then you drag in, eventually, how your family treats you, a family you don't cut ties with no matter how much they harass you ( ... )
