These are many of the same talking points/outright lies repeated endlessly by the media during the Bush years. They are also believed and repeated by many citizens as well, to this day.

Well yes ... but that doesn't make them TRUE. And the Shoe-Thrower, having seen the facts on the ground, knows full well that he's lying.
You and I know they're lies. And perhaps he knows it too. But I'm just wondering how history will be written up on the Iraq War, say 50+ years from now when we're all gone.
So many people actually believe these things, especially the media and those who frame the narrative of what is true and false. I guess it won't matter to those who saw it unfold, since we'll all be dead. But I wish I could see which version the generations after us will accept as factual.

By the way, the statement about which I urged "doing the math" is something that anyone could tell was nonsense if they thought about it. If Americans had killed a million Iraqis (they didn't), the only way in which we could create "five million widows and orphans" would be if they made sure to kill married couples in a good many of the cases (to create "orphans") and if in the other cases they made sure to kill men with multiple wives.
Say that we killed 750,000 married men and 250,000 women married to some of those men. We have now created 500,000 "widows" (since the dead wives are dead, not "widows." To then create the necessary 4,500,000 "orphans" (to bring the total up to the purported 5,000,000) the 250,000 couples we offed would have to have had an average of 18 (!!!) children each. In fact, even if we kill only married couples, so that we produce 5,000,000 orphans and no widows, the 500,000 couples we slaughter must have had an average of 10 children each

They're arabs. They exaggerate in the hope that you will be foolish enough to listen to them and make concessions.
Has no one ever haggled at a flea market?
