Obama's "Diplomatic Brilliance" on Display during his trip to Russia

Jul 12, 2009 06:48

President Barack Obama went to Russia earlier this month and made a stupid deal with the wrong person.

The stupid deal was offering to scrap our planned missile defense base in Poland (which would cover all of Europe from an attack from the east and southeast) in return for Russian cooperation on preventing Iran acquire nuclear weapons. The ( Read more... )

It's the Krugman principle. Whether in action or in thought, Obama always errs.

You know, maybe if somebody gave Obama a loaded AK-47 . . . No, that's too much to hope for.

Wow, I didn't go to Harvard or anything, but even I know Putin really rules Russia.

Actually, no. He doesn't know it. Obama is not the kind of guy to surround himself with anything other than Yes men, and he is so smart that he will not listen to anyone who tells him something other than what he believes. That's why he has such a snarky and condescending attitude towards everyone.

He's god, and he knows it. Because for the last 4 years now, that is what everyone on the left has been telling him.

Well, for what it is worth, Putins commitment to do nothing in exchange for something would have been almost exactly as efficacious as Medvedevs. 0=0.

I wonder what Putin thinks of Obama. The fluffy bunny speeches (don't we all love fluffy bunnies...and world peace?) aren't going to cut it with these guys.

If I had to match "the Chicago-way" against "the Kremlin way" my money would be on the Kremlin. Now, the American Way, that would be a good match.

Once upon a time "the Chicago way" would have meant Al Capone, who at least knew enough not to pull something that stupid/bad for America. You don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, after all. What do you get when you cross Soupy Sales with Joe Stalin? Darth Soupy Obama.

See you KNOW things are bad when a mob boss would make a better prez than Obama.

They at least would have known to deal with da Russkies.

I think there's a "not" in that "Known to deal with." Anyway, you got it.

It's all really quite simple: What ever the situation, the decision, the idea, if it hurts America Obama is for it. And the more it hurts, the more he'll support it.

And it's all going to get a hell of a lot worse than it is today. You can be corrupt, or you can be stupid. You can't be both, and he most certainly is.

The only question in my mind is whether it's blind stupidity, or calculated malice.

I'd say "blind stupidity or calculated plotting"-- I'm not quite ready for the Darth Obama theory yet-- but yeah.

How about "stupid calculated malice"? He sounds like a total dolt. I don't care how much malice was behind that, he still comes off like an idiot.
