James Holmes is a name everyone will forget.
Batman will live on.
No spoilers, but I loved the movie. Spoilers in comments if people want to discuss. Or rant, or shake me of my idealism and false idols.
Everything I have ever written about comics is inside that movie.
And
geonncannon has

Somehow all of that felt less crowded/holy mess than Spider-Man 3 and it's "Let's have Venom and Sandman and Green Goblin comes back and Spider-Man No More!" God, I hate that movie. I digress. I'm not surprised that it was nearly three hours long, but I'm surprised that it didn't really feel like it could be shorter. It was epic.
And I'm glad I heard it was the "end of the trilogy," since I was worried around the football stadium scene that Bane would take over, create No Man's Land, dump Batman in the prison and the credits would roll. "To Be Continued in Batman: No Man's Land, coming in 2015!"
And hells yes, I wrote movie fic! While Leverage was on, even. That's why it's so short... I had to write during commercials. ;D

Catwoman at the tunnel.
Bruce waking up in his empty mansion.
Alfred at the grave.
Blake throwing his badge in the river.
To me it was those quiet, personal moments, and the story of Bruce/Gordon/Blake/Catwoman. It's too bad we didn't have any of those with Bane or Talia, but I guess they're supposed to be manifestations of evil. Which I don't quite buy, because of my own personal biases.
Scarecrow! :D :D :D

And you forgot Gordon alone in the hospital! When he was watching the city fall, helpless. And then "Clear your corners, kid." ;D
I think Bane and Talia got just enough. They loved each other, and it was a deep love. He was just doing this because she came back for him. There could be epics written about them. R'as ah Ghul (not even going to try spelling it right ;D) just wanted to clean up the city. Granted, he wanted to do so by wiping it off the map because the city was a cancer. But regardless. ;D
I agree, it really was more about Bruce than Batman. And Selina was never referred to as Catwoman (except one headline that called her The Cat). It was a very human story. :D
I felt bad Joker couldn't make an appearance, but I guess even if Heath had survived, the Joker died at the end of II.
