Yeah, pretty much, they're revoking the rights of gays to marry. They're calling it crazy because it's letting the majority vote for a minority right - it'd be like asking blacks and whites to vote on reversing Brown v. Board of Education like 5 months after that ruling - of course it would have been overturned. Although this was really close... so

what bugs me the most is seeing people who genuinely love each other and are willing to committ to a relationship and yet they're not allowed to and meanwhile, many straight couples are just pissing on the sanctity of marriage with divorce and cheating and all that jazz and yet not having to pay any price for it. the church is against divorce...why aren't they up in arms about that then.

I really don't know.. but there are so many other sins (adultery, divorce, jealousy, lust, gambling, drinking, etc.) out there that are committed on a daily basis that aren't targeted, it makes no sense to me why homosexuality (and I guess, abortion, but abortion seems more okay for some reason (?) since all of those measures failed) are targeted. Maybe because straight people can never become guilty of this sin and feel a higher morality when it comes to sexuality and therefore feel like they have the ability to pass judgment? Who knows.. *sigh*

What pisses me off is that Imperial County voted 70% (20,217) voted Yes on 8 while only 8,644 voted No. There were hardly any signs mentioning 8 around this county. Seriously though, some of those votes could have been swayed to "No." Heh, I'm pretty sure the "44" of the "8,644" were my family and friends I convinced to vote and say No.

Probably because the Yes side knew that they were going to vote Yes and the No side forgot that that was part of CA. -_-"
