Ramblings on spoilers and I finally throw my opinions on Torchwood S4 into the ring

Nov 10, 2010 17:29

I have been saying for a couple of weeks that things have reached the point where I have to decide when to start hiding from the Torchwood info being released for fear of spoilers…and I have reached my decision.

The ramble and my Torchwood season four feelings are here... )

primeval, ramblings, being human, torchwood

Well said hun

Personally I'm looking forward to to S4, to see where and how they move it on...i loved the first two series and bloody loved the third..what at great tense drama....and yes I loved the character that was Ianto and yes it was sad and I did sob and still do when I watch it and I loved Tosh and Owen too..

Maybe because of my age I'm used to shows i love being cancelled and my favourite characters being killed off or regenerated....anyone remember Earth 2 that was on sky 1 in the early 90's!!!

And YES I love GWEN and Jack!!

I am also really looking forward to Being Human and Primeval too. Gonna be a good year for my favorite TV shows..and if i think they are shite I will just stop watching, is no big deal

I too am hoping to stay away from spoilers as thats what the do spoil the anticipation and the wonder/enjoyment of watching a show.

Sorry for my ramble and bad spelling. and I hope I haven't P'd anyone off as this is just my view!!!

No-one would be P'd off, this has turned into a lovely grown up discussion, am very pleased. Glad that you're looking forward to it; and BH and PE, we can bounce together! Thanks for sharing :o)

I'm looking forward to TW, but by the same token, I'm going to try not to get invested in the characters because I know that RTD has no qualms about killing them off. Once burned...or is that 3x burned?

I don't have Starz, so there's no hope of me being spoiler-free until I see it, so I'll just live vicariously through those that are watching it live, as it were.

I don't watch Being Human or Primeval.

You make a really good point about getting invested in the characters. As you say, the rules are all gone; anyone is fair game. It's not something I had considered that way. *tries not to sit in the corner wibbling about who might be next*

I'm with you actually... S3 was tough but it was also the best quality TV I've watched in a long time... even my husband, who is NOT into Torchwood at all, was hooked for all five days

I can take or leave spoilers - don't seek them out but not worried if I come across one - I had about 4 hours warning about Day 4 and it kinda helped

Looking forward to S4 - Life is all about change, I'm not the sam person I was a four or five years ago, neither is Gwen (who I only started really liking in S3), neither is Jack and neither will be Rhys...

Oh yes! I love your last line especially! They will all be different and I am so excited about that! They have been through so much and it will have changed all of them. We have no idea where Jack has been or up to in the time since and Gwen and Rhys will be parents with god knows what else having happened since the trauma of CoE. The potential is great.

Thanks... yeah, I hope the potential doesn't get squandered, but I have faith that it's going to be good - the bits I'v heard seem to point that way (she says with all fingers crossed once she's stopped typing :D)

I hope Jack has healed and moved on... I know fans won't like that idea, but I've always told my husband that if I die before him, then I want him to find happiness if there is another chance at love... and I want the same for my favourite TV characters :D

Again I quite agree. No-one can grieve forever, life moves on and sadly this is something Jack is all very well aware of. Do we expect Gwen never to make any more friends? Of course not. So why should we expect Jack never to move on.

Not going to watch S4, but totally support your watching. And I hope it meets your expectations. I'm just not interested in a political thriller series, even if its great.

But I love JB, and unlike Distasterously Boring Housewives which I sat through for my JB fix, I will also put myself on your DVD list and fast forward to see any particularly juicy bits with JB.

Lol.

And that is a fair point, the type of show it sounds like it's going to be could just be for a different audience; you either like it or you don't. Good point.

That is a great and a fair point. People watch TV and choose their shows for very different reasons; to get different things from them. I like the funner side of things like original Torchwood, but I like my darker shows too. And I can totally see your point about the new season sharing the name when they are likely to be such different beasts.
