technically speaking, the only fruits in there are strawberries ('cause I had to eat them before they went bad) and blackberries (which go surprisingly well with any salad. The rest is all vegetables.

sigh. only you, jon. only you can tear me in two with my desire to be both admiringly complimentary and reflexively snarky. so, in honor of your greatness, i will deliver both comments to you at once:

"Wow. That's an awfully fruity-looking salad. Figures..."

"Wow! that's an amazingly beautiful and tasty-looking salad. Do you mind sharing the recipe?"

: )

Haha. That's why we love you Dave. Your admiring snarkiness. It's actually just a spinach base with tomatoes, orange bell peppers, blackberries, strawberries, and kidney beans. Sometimes I use garbanzo beans or black beans instead (gotta have protein) and the strawberries were a fluke, but it turned out good. (Oh yes, and if at all possible, at least half an avocado. And maybe some cheese crumbles.) Dump it all in a very large bowl and drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar over it. Then eat it. But be sure and eat all around so you pace yourself on all the ingredients.

Looks tasty! I've never rocked blackberries in a salad before. I've done raspberries or even raspberry vinaigrette, but never blackberries.

Perhaps I'll follow suit with a salad of my own.
