Just, wow.

I expect my flying car or jet-pack by the end of next year.

Well, Jonas brothers did contribute a song to the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack...so that's futuristic.

Apparently, ABC's website suck's balls. I don't see a way to link specifically to the "Teen Receives New Heart" video, which reports on a teen who was kept alive (and conscious) without a heart for over a month.

Oddly enough this is not as unusual as it seems. I get patients at least once a month that were on a Total Artifical Heart machine prior to transplant (I work in post-op inpatient organ transplant). It never stops amazing me though.

The extra-ordinary aspect to this story is that the girl was on the machine after her heart was removed, and that she was on it for so long. If I understand the technology, most of the time the machine is used to assist the old heart prior to transplant.
