Mike Green: Jon stewart deserves a Pulitzer for defense of Helen Thomas.

The truth is out there. But who would've expected to find it in a comedy show?

While many Christian churches act as a supportive shill for America's government, and peddle more propaganda about Israel than politicians, the truth exposing the absolute epitome of ignorance and intolerance enveloping America was revealed June 9, 2010 in an episode of Read more... )

Was Mike Green even watching the same episode I was watching??? Because Jon wasn't defending Helen Thomas here, he was calling out how utterly fucking ridiculous the rest of the Press Corps is IN FIGHTING OVER HER NOW VACANT FRONT ROW SEAT AND ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS.

Context, Mike Green. You were not paying attention to it.

Yeah, and isn't this the same guy who wanted Jon to change his name back to Liebowitz? :/

I think Mike Green tends to view Jon through his own... very skewed perspective. Not that we don't all watch him through our own perspective, but reading his other stuff... yeah.
If anything, I think Stephen was the one who was standing up for Thomas, if we are to put just the two episodes from that night together.

Jon has taken blind support for Israel and the lack of willingness for an Israel/Palestinian peace to task more than once (we all remember having that coalition on the show and the asshole who had to be ejected for yelling shit-- nice!) in his past, though, something Green would do well to call up (particularly in, I dunno, an article praising Jon's views on the matter?).

"While many Christian churches act as a supportive shill for America's government..."

This statement has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the article, or any of the issues brought up in the article, and isn't backed up by any evidence whatsoever. So why the hell is it in here?

IDK, this whole thing rubbed me the wrong way. Jon's doing what he usually does, which is criticizing the media for being crap. And then you go and write an article about the segment...and the article is crap. Irony.
