Hello Gentle Reader.

With the release of "Fantasy Now", a fantastic tome showcasing what's best in contemporary fantasy art (as well as some of my own meagre work), I am given kind permission to show off the cover I painted for the new edition of Dragon Warriors. I love 'em too! - its a really weird thing to watch, since it runs at a speed which is totally different to the speed these things get made at. You get a really different insight on the decisions you took whilst painting.

New edition of Dragon Warriors?!? Awesome! Still can't find a copy of volume six of the original (for under twenty quid, at any rate), so this is very good to hear.

I like how the party of adventurers has stumbled across the very same dungeon as depicted on the original cover; very cool.

Judging by the helmet and skull on the floor they didn't get very far after being on the original cover...

Hopefully out next year! I have a copy of book six somewhere. But I'd never part with it! The Russ Nicholson art in that one is some of my favourite gaming art evar.

I give 10 out of 10 for the background, I love the tribute to the first book.

8 out of 10 for both the Knight and the Sorcerer who really look the part.

7 out of 10 for Barbarian. Too neat and tidy for me!

4 out of 10 for the Mystic. He looks like a cross between an Assassin and a monk. I'd like to see him with long hair and a bow looking more like a hunter/ranger then a priest.

Overall that's 7.4 out of 10. A pretty good job.

I'd also have been happier to see at least one female in the party on the cover. My wife plays in my games and I think it is important to have a cover that represents a more modern world.
