Most people try to ignore the 500lb gorilla in the room. Not author, blogger, and carnival troupe member Terri-Lynne DeFino (aka bogwitch64). She talks to them. At least, she does if the gorilla in question is Mr. Tinkles, who earned widespread praise* for his supporting role in my debut novel, Fur-Face.

One of the best things about writing is that you get to put words in other people's mouths. We can make our characters say daft, funny lines, or have them tear at our heartstrings with moving expressions of love, fear, anger or regret.
