Which do you prefer, Firefly or Doctor Who?

No spoilers, because I know some of my Whovian friends haven't yet had the chance to watch the first two episodes of the latest season of Doctor Who, but I'm so impressed with the quality of writing from Steven Moffat (who also writes Sherlock, another must-see TV show).

I haven't seen it since David Tennant was on. Is it showing in the States yet? Since I haven't seen the new Dr. Who I won't vote yet. It would be a hard vote either way. They're very different.

It's on BBC America and Netflix streaming, but I haven't seen it elsewhere (except on DVD).

Lol, it's just for fun, Mahdi. I'm not expecting anyone to stop watching the one that comes second :)

Patrick Troughton is my favourite Doctor too. Such a shame so few of his stories remain in the BBC Archive.

I watched the surviving episodes on DVD a couple of months back (along with the William Hartnell ones). Great fun :)

Thanks, Jon. I'm not sure my cable gets BBC America. I'll check hulutv.

I've not used Hulu, but if they're any good, I'm sure they'll have it too

Cablevision only got BBC America this year, so There Is Hope. They have also been rerunning ST:TNG.

So there is hope.

I tried hard to like Firefly. I loved the ambiance, the setting, the concept...but the characters...I just couldn't like any of them...

But I've been a fan of the Doctor since the late 1980s.

I love all the Firefly characters, especially Jayne :)

I've never seen Dr. Who, so for me, Firefly won hands down simply because I've seen it. I was rather an unwilling fan - I didn't really like it at first, but the more I watched it, the more I found myself getting sucked into it. And like the photo says, I'm still upset that it was cancelled. :)

...I'm still upset that it was cancelled.

Since May, when I first created that picture, it's had over 3,000 shares on Facebook, so you're not alone, Kay ;)

I don't think you're meant to take Doctor Who as seriously as Firefly, but both shows suck you in and never let you go :)
