Like the mega lottery, you can't win if you don't take part :)

The only straight book title I have written out, and the book nearly complete and needing a great deal of revision, and the character mentioned within the title (as sort of a pronoun-type thing, not a name, just an opinion held by those within the novel; and you know how these things are always subject to final change by an editor, assuming the book is accepted for commercial publication, because I sure as Hades can't afford self-publication :P) is The Last Great Mage.

Not submitting the title, though, especially as it's a working one. :P

Working titles qualify for entry (as do WiPs) :)

The title refers to a book, purportedly written by the aforementioned Last Great Mage; but sometimes, things are not always as they seem. And yea, I know, Turkey City Lexicon, objects, and all that. I had, and still have, a lot of fun with it, and even invented a four-faceted religion with a fifth (hidden) faction, featuring such lovelies as the Four (which has a secret fifth) Road to Salvation. One through gambling (the one character I did as one of the dares for a NaNoWriMo a few years back really became a major character, and has sort of turned into a token Living Saint of Gambling, for the Salvation Through Gambling chapter of the sect - and yea, I've had a lot of fun with it so far)

On an unrelated note, now that I've started keeping an eye out for one word I use a lot ("just") and editing them out, another word arises ("actually"). No one warned me this would happen.

What is judging based on? I tend to hate titles...sometimes it's harder than writing the story!

Hi MaryBeth,

In the early rounds, people vote for any title they think should proceed to the final. The titles which make it through then face-off in a nail-biting battle to win a Puddle.

Also, the winner gets a prize :)
