wait if they're moving out they shouldn't keep you're deposit. if other people move in, they should pay them a deposit though. if you all leave, you shouldn't be liable for them fucking up.

You lived there for all of 2 months.
If anything is broken in the place, it was probably from before you moved in.

Be upfront with him about it: "Dude, are you trying to blatantly rip me off, because XYZ...?" People rarely intentionally do that, but he might have a different take on what's fair.

i would tell them since you did no damage you are using your deposit to pay your last months rent.

otherwise, you pay him 375$, and he [is supposed to] pay/s you back 375$. that is dumb. you don't owe them shit.
