Black Gate #15

Black Gate #15 is out soon. It's a terrific magazine for fantasy readers and I would recommend it wholeheartedly even if they weren't publishing a short story by me in #15. As it happens, they are. My story's an 11 000 word adventure called "The Shuttered Temple." The issue's full contents list can be found here ( Read more... )

I always love the little side stories that elude to so much about Cabal. Wish there was some way I could find them all in one place ;) instead of chasing down obscure magazines. And the audio file is well done too. Nice touch.

I've been blown away by your Johannes Cabal stories for years now(honestly my favorite book/fictional character), and as a young writer in the same genre, I was wondering specifically about your process regarding description. All of your description are top-notch, and indeed are what I think add the greatest charm to your stories and part of what makes them so very unique, but is that something that just comes very naturally to you? I only ask because--as I've implied--unique description is an important detail of what makes each writer unique, and I personally, often let myself get hung up on crafting those perfect lines of description. Is your process similar or are you just truly as prodigious as your fans (including myself) think?...It's totally okay if you are, btw.
