Well, that was easy.

 Relatively speaking.

As will be evident from my previous entries pertaining to Nanowrimo, I was not at all convinced that I would be able to complete it, and that if I could even hit 25 000 words I would be happy. Well, as it turned out I passed 50k last Tuesday, the 23rd, and finished the novel the following day, hitting just shy of 55k.

Writerly meanderings follow... )

Sir, may I ask where "Johannes Cabal and the Blustery Day" has been published besides the Lovecraft magazine? I'm having a hard time tracking that down.

Also, if I may be so bold, keep up the good work; I enjoy your stories a great deal.

You may indeed be so bold, sir, and thank you for your interest and your kind words.

As to your question, I'm afraid that "H.P. Lovecraft's Magazine of Horror" is currently the only way to find "Johannes Cabal and the Blustery Day." I would dearly like to put together the published Cabal shorts along with some new ones to make an anthology, but there are currently insufficient to make this viable. Until such time or "Blustery Day" being picked up for an anthology, the magazine remains your only recourse.

Best wishes,
JLH

You've probably checked eBay, but try contacting sellers of the Magazines of Horror. A lot of them mislabel the items (I've had two wrong issues sent to me because they put the wrong issue numbers on that auction). Ask them if they have an issue with Blustery Day, and you might have some luck.

Congratulations! You'll have to share your secret to such a prodigious work ethic with the rest of us plebs. Colour me impressed.

I hope we get to read this "bit of an adventure yarn" one day; Something about a grandiose good-versus-evil conflict erupting amidst an opera scene has me all giddy.
