Okay, as promised, here are 55 hand picked prompts that came from the summaries, reviews, and back covers of romance novels. Most of these are from Harlequin novels, however, in order to ensure that we got you the best prompts, we did branch out a bit.
Okay, here's the claiming process, step by step.
Step One
Browse through the prompts and find one you like.
The prompts are divided up into categories (that way, if you know you don't like historical plots, you can just skip over that section.) Take your time because prompts can be claimed multiple times. However, we tried to provide enough variety that everyone would find one that would tickle their fancy.
If you're determined to be the only one answering a prompt, my suggestion would be to take a wait and see approach. I'll be making a master post soon of participants/claimed prompts so far around Monday.

Once you find a prompt that makes you happy, simply comment on this post (and no other) that you have chosen for instance, Historical Hilarity, Prompt #2. That's it! You don't need to cut and paste the whole prompt into the comment. Just the category and the number.

Now that you have a prompt, have fun with it.
Naturally, there is a lot of fluidity in rewriting this prompt. It doesn't need to be a word for word retelling of what the novel was probably like. If you want to add a wacky matchmaking aunt, please do! And feel free to exchange the job of "movie star" for "rock star," rewrite a cranky grandfather who left a heft inheritance that can only be received on the grandchild's wedding day to Papa Jonas, or turn assassins into paparazzi, etc. Or not! Whatever you want to add your touch to it.
All the I ask is that it follows the rough idea of the summary. If it says amnesia in the prompt, someone should get amnesia or something quite like it. If you choose a historical prompt, keep it historical. But of course, it's not like I'll be sending hired goons after anyone that strays too far. In fact, if all 55 prompts get written, I'll be over the moon, no matter WHAT!

Naturally, there is a lot of fluidity in rewriting this prompt. It doesn't need to be a word for word retelling of what the novel was probably like. If you want to add a wacky matchmaking aunt, please do! And feel free to exchange the job of "movie star" for "rock star," rewrite a cranky grandfather who left a heft inheritance that can only be received on the grandchild's wedding day to Papa Jonas, or turn assassins into paparazzi, etc. Or not! Whatever you want to add your touch to it.
All the I ask is that it follows the rough idea of the summary. If it says amnesia in the prompt, someone should get amnesia or something quite like it. If you choose a historical prompt, keep it historical. But of course, it's not like I'll be sending hired goons after anyone that strays too far. In fact, if all 55 prompts get written, I'll be over the moon, no matter WHAT!
