My plan is to work until I die. The caveat is that I'm changing my profession to one I WANT to work at until I die.

But it's good to think of these things, my birthday twin. I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be a segment of the world who will wish we had died much sooner than we will. And that's as it should be.

First of all, Happy Birthday!

Secondly, I'm turning 43 myself in a couple of weeks-- so I know a little of how you feel.

Our culture's worship of youth does not prepare us for later years, that's for sure.

I hope you find your role model.

(Nice to see you posting!)

Steve A would be a great role model! In fact after visiting he and his wife, who are retired, I am now taking even more major steps towards retiring. I don't plan to work until I die either, although the story was very touching.

For every $300 you have stashed away and earning interest of 4% a year you have one dollar of passive income you not have to work for.
