Unreal II

Reviewing all my steam games, perhaps a little slowly. And I’ve gotten behind so this is going to be a quick review of a game I haven’t yet played. Just so you know what I was looking for or thinking of when I bought it and all.

This time looking at Unreal II.

Unreal Gold was a campaign system for a first person shooter engine. Unreal II is another campaign system based on a cleaned up version of the engine. This one came out in 2003, which would be followed a year later by Unreal Tournament 2004.

I haven’t touched this one, but it looks to be just a few steps better then those before it, so I expect it to run well on my older computers. When time permits and I finish off my catalogue of other games I will turn to these with much happiness. Until then I don’t regret buying the unreal pack when it was on sale, even if I haven’t gotten my money’s worth out of it yet.

I haven’t played many of these, but I know people who have coded levels and I know of games that were just modifications on this engine and released. My laptop is old but still able to run this generation of game quite well so it is likely that I will at one point return to and finish off these games. Not tomorrow, nor even soonish, but possible.

Current steam value of $0.
