In the early 70's my husband was in a rock band. They weren't huge, but they opened for The Doors, Jethro Tull and other big bands. They cut one album, which was a pretty decent seller. My husband, Lawrence, wrote most of the song, and played lead guitar. After the band broke up, he was a studio musician until he became a recording engineer, ( Read more... )

Wow. That is SO cool. And those are some huge enormous big names they opened for. What a lovely photo. He sounds like he was a very talented man.

It is cool. I'm awash in nostalgia, which I have to admit is playing havoc with my page count. Just hearing the snippets you can play on the Amazon link made me smile. I fell in love with him when he played me Teddy Bear's Picnic on his 12 string.

That's indeed a gorgeous pic. He reminds me of some old movie star but I can't quite put my finger on whom!

On the liner notes, under instruments and who plays them, he said that he played the buffoon. :)

Aw.

Yeah, he was a looker. I remember being appalled that random women would try to pick him up when we went out. I was right there!

I love that he did that in the liner notes. I'm missing him a lot today.

Looks and sounds like he was quite a guy, with a great sense of humor, too. Your life must've been seeped in music. So wonderful. You must have some beautiful memories.

I hope this isn't inappropriate, but wow he's cute :-D What completely glorious eyes.

And that's so cool about the CD - both that it has been made and that someone thought to tell you. I really hope you get a copy... It would be such a lovely thing to have.

Also, I remember you saying once that he was musical, but didn't realise he was a recording engineer. Yay for sound-desk nerds!

No, not inappropriate - he was gorgeous.

Yeah, I'm pleased about the CD, but I can't figure out who did it. I don't think it was anyone connected to the band, and what happened to the rights. Not that I think it'll make a bundle or anything, but it seems weird. I still want one.

Later in his life, he switched to film and he did sound effects and design. Did a lot of movies. He loved it. He was all about sound, my guy. :)
