Thursday Thoughts
I'm sure many people who read fanfiction have ideas they'd like to write and I'm no different. I've got a list of twelve stories that I've outlined to some extent, but I've not sat down and tried to complete any of them. I'm just not sure I have the stick-to-it to successfully finish a story that I feel good enough about to share with others.
A few weeks ago I was contacted by sadwinchfn at www.sinful-desire.org where I've reviewed several stories. She wanted to know if I would beta her new story. We worked on the first three chapters and then she sent me a note saying that she would be having major surgery and would not be able to write for some time. She asked me if I would consider finishing the story as her co-author. Fortunately she had sent me a pretty detailed outline to work from. Before she went into the hospital I had time to work on chapter 4 and get Sue's feedback. I've now incorporated her edits and completed chapter 4 and am working on chapter 5.
I'm really hoping that I'll be able to finish this and do justice to Sue's ideas. I do need to find someone to beta the new chapters as I complete them. I really want to turn out a quality product, but I'm awfully nervous.
Anyway, I'm trying to be somewhat disciplined about this writing thing and spend time each day working. As it is now 3:00 I'm going to get busy and see if I can't finish chapter 5 today.
