SERIOUSLY OMGWTF THEY AREN'T EVEN IN THE SAME CATEGORY. FOR INSTANCE, HARRY POTTER IS ACTUALLY LITERATURE, NOT FANFICTION IN THE FORM OF A BOOK. >_< RAWR
Don't worry, it's one of mine too. I actually enjoyed Twilight, but after that I was just tired of it. I must admit the story is decent, and if ANYONE other than Bella was narrating, it might have actually been pretty good. If Smeyer took an English class, got a better editor, bought a thesaurus, and told the story from perhaps Edward's p.o.v. (and eliminated the sparkles [seriously, Smeyer? WTH did that come from?])... maybe she would be somewhere near JKR. But I wholeheartedly agree - Harry Potter might not ACTUALLY be the best series of books evar written (I still think it is <3) but at least JKR is competent. She managed to write 7 whole books of above average storyline, not to even mention her three-dimensional characters and intelligent vocabulary.

Unless he's up against Buffy or SPN, in which case I would throw all three into a hat, pick one, and vote for that one, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to choose.
