The abbess stared contemplatively at the pool. Mirror-flat, jade-green, it reminded her somewhat of the serene moon. She often liked coming to the pool, for a moment of silence, to calm her mind and still her thoughts.

This is indeed rather intriguing.

I finally read "of Oysters, Pearls and Magic". I really like what appears to be almost like a diary format with the chapters. And the premise is really interesting as well.

I love how the abbess has the same stern tone for badly cleaned floors as well as inattentiveness!

I portrayed the abbess, using my mom as a model. ;) She could be quite strict with badly cleaned floors and inattentiveness!
