Another wonderful installment! Your Rose is such a great heroine, with her courage and humor and unwilling (though sexy) wearing of feathers. And I love the way you are blending Doctor Who and Torchwood canons to create your own vision of Jack's world and the Time Agency. There are so many details that ring true, right down to the names you have chosen for Jack and John Hart (and Jack's poignant thoughts about his old name: He hated hearing that name. Shaylin was a man without a home). Also, Ryoshka Xi'a is an awesome OC, and I love seeing a non-human sea-person described as "beautiful"--very appropriate for Jack's point of view.

Still in suspense, and looking forward to the next part!

I always got this sense of entitlement from John Hart, like he deserved to get whatever he wanted no matter what he did, which I thought could be explained by a well-connected family.

I completely agree about the sense of entitlement and the well-connected family. But now I'm wondering why he feels such a need to pull off heists and make money illicitly. Just for the thrill? Or to rebel against his family? Or because he's run through his share of the family money? *ponders*

That's our Rose--not only jeopardy-friendly, but determined to rescue everyone else there, as well.

And man, that last scene from Jack's point of view, complete with his parents watching. Talk about cutting to the quick. It's a good thing the Doctor is there.

And I can't wait to see what conversation Rose has with Madam Thibadeaux.

Mikaëla Thibadeaux is the most fun I've ever had with an OC in a fanfic, I think. I've been enjoying writing this as much as you have reading it!
