Suicide Squad #1
Well, I read this thing. It wasn't...horrendous...I guess. If Harley wasn't there as a distraction I think I would have liked it a lot. Even she wasn't, like, terrible in every aspect. The artist gave her fun facial expressions and her dialogue was decent. I've decided I don't hate the costume from the waist down, but can't come to terms with the waist up. Anyway, there's a page that depicts her and the Joker together in flashback mode. He doesn't say anything, but it only brings to mind how painfully stupid her new outfit is. If they were going with a more Nolan-type Joker, it'd wouldn't look as out of place, but they aren't. It's a traditional Joker with her looking like...well, that and together they look beyond stupid. Just sayin'. Also, on this page was an asterisk indicating the events between them were somehow linked to Detective Comics #1. Now I read Detective Comics #1 and I have no idea how the two have anything to do with one another. Confused, I am. Also, isn't Detective Comics supposed to be set five years prior to the rest of the continuity? If so, does that mean that Suicide Squad is as well? How many books are they going to write out of sync with the timeline?
