Keeping It Together (Final)
So, here's my dilemma - and again, it may just be a product of my innate pull to be conservative in these last remaining weeks before the Camino - there's this homily that C. is supposed to give at another church this Sunday. It's at 9:00 and it will mean traveling about a half hour north of NYC by commuter train. It's a fundraising gig and may well be C's swan song as a public speaker for the foreseeable future. C invited me. But, the vibe isn't right. HB is friends with one of the clergy; he expressed genuine disappointment that C. didn't tell him first that he got the gig (and, I may have stepped in it by teasing, "I know something you don't know..." I know. Real mature, right?)
Anyway, the whole thing seems to be shaping up into another gathering of the Knights of Templar except there won't be a subway close by if things really begin to go south.
