I am slowly catching up on films for that 100 films in 2009 meme. I saw the heartbreaking Wendy and Lucy today and introduced my mum to the delights of Monday cheap-arse daytime films.

!! Gogol Bordello!! I saw them live in 2006, and it was one of the most exciting shows I've ever attended. I'd just got my first tattoo the same day and I was worried that I'd sweat the ointment off or something and ruin it by jumping around so much, but I just could not stay still. Eugene was kind of terrifying, leaping around like an antelope in skinny jeans and suspenders and standing on monitors and doing flips and being groped by folks at the front of the pit--although at that point he had no body fat at all, looked like a skeleton wrapped in sinew and moustache, which was a little worrying. Still awesome.

Ok, perhaps I have to revise my answer to the "if you had one trip in the tardis, where/when would you go" question. Previously it was back to a Ziggy Stardust concert. But now... now i'm all confused.

They weren't the big firefighter kind, but they were pretty snazzy. Alas, I have no photographic evidence.
