On the "Things you probably didn't know about Jimmy Smits" front; if he's presenting a concert that's both live and on television, and it features classical music, he air-conducts while not on camera. It's cute!

That's another way of saying I got to see Jimmy Smits present the Fourth of July concert in Washington DC last night, and I was close enough to see what he did when the cameras were off.
