JESUS FUCKING CHRIST I AGREE WITH THIS ENTIRE ASSESSMENT. JESUS. CHRIST. WAY TO EXPLAIN NOTHING, RTD.

So much fail. Glad I found a kindred spirit.

(Also RANDOM but I just noticed that one of your LJ tags is "to blaaaiiiive." And as we all know, "to blaive" means "to bluff"! So you were probably playing cards, and he cheated!)

Oh well, at least I can use this icon for the next week.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't really care for it either. I'm not really a fan of the Master in the first place, so I had little patience for his jumping around with the lightning and all that shit. And then becoming everyone, GOD, never-ending nightmare!
I kind of am interested in the other Time Lords, though. And I liked the bit with the spiky aliens.

Waters of Mars was AWESOME! I liked the other specials well enough, but Waters of Mars was the best. I really enjoyed the Doctor taking the situation into his own hands, even knowing he shouldn't.

Agree with pretty much every part of this entry. I have no idea how it can all be salvaged next week, but as DW fans of the RTD era, we're used to clinging to impossible hope.

The reference to Banakafalata made me yelp. He, Brannigan, and the Ood are my favorite DW aliens!

I love when they make idiosyncratic references like that, like in "The Runaway Bride" when Ten asked Donna if her fiancee had a "zip" on his forehead like the Slitheen. And then the spiky green aliens got all indignant about how that's a different race. Those few moments with the Doctor and the aliens and "shimmer!" were probably the best of the episode.

I agree with you on, oh, EVERYTHING...what the fuck was up with basically making the Doctor out to be Jesus in the first five minutes?

OH OH OH I hated Christina. Every single line of hers was basically a "tough woman" cliche. The guy I was watching it with was all, "I like her! I like seeing women be tough and match the doctor!" and I was all, "WHAT THE FUCK BARBECUE? Every word out of her mouth came straight out of 'Gone in 60 Seconds'! You're stupid, I am smart."

But I digress.

Adorable crying time lords are my weakness.

Christina was the. WORST. Maybe I could have handled her being simply tough but she was *~*sassy*~* to boot. She didn't match the Doctor at all; she was just obnoxiously "independent." If you want to see someone match the Doctor, take a look at Donna. Truly you are smart, male co-viewer is not.
