And as the screaming fire engine's siren filled the air

I just finished watching series four of Doctor Who, and... WHAT? Just WHAT? Way to leave me in a state of crazy emotional and mental turmoil while you go and keep uping your season finales. Just when I thought nothing could be darker than the episodes with the Master, oh I don't know, destroying the world while poor Martha has to wander the ( Read more... )

Yeah. Ummmmmm.... yeah. Sometimes when I'm PMSing and need a good cry I just put those last three eps on. I start when Ianto assures Jack he'll be fine and don't stop until an hour after I've finished watching the ep after it.

...I really shouldn't watch this video again. I read way to much slash to not choke on my own spit with hilarity.

I was so upset about Donna. She was awesome, and especially with the whole getting to be part time lord for a while . . . I was SO excited at the thought that the Doctor would have someone on his level who was so clever. And then it's all snatched away.

I thought there was something weird about Rose's mouth, too.

It didn't bother me so much that she lost her part-Timelord side. What really got to me was that she lost the very memory of all she did with the Doctor and how awesome she was. And after she tried to hard to find him that second time :(

You know, everyone cries about Rose being sealed away in another dimension, but really Martha and Donna ended up with much worse situations. Like I mentioned, Martha had to wander a deadened earth of captive humans FOR A YEAR while she knew the Doctor and her family were being tortured by a madman. Donna lost everything she had gained by traveling with the Doctor. Rose, though, while she was stuck in a parallel dimension, had Mickey and her mom and her dad, whom she didn't even have in her regular universe! And in the end she gets a human Doctor to sex her up. Totally bogus.

Yeah, and the fact that she really doesn't know how awesome she is, in her normal life. It's pretty heartbreaking.
But I'd really liked Romana on the old series, so I was excited about him getting to travel with a female timelord again, heh.

Yeah, Rose got a pretty good deal, especially at the end. And I'd maybe feel more sympathy if she hadn't been so whiny.

Also, I never liked the Master. I really don't get the fandom fascination with him.

I totally agree. I think Rose got a pretty fantastic deal. It's not like she could have had any ~romance~ with the actual doctor, but his human version is pretty much perfect. AND she gets the family and financial security she never really had before. Things are good for Rose and that's really nice. I was very happy with that.

BUT DONNA! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that's a awful ending. I'm also okay with her no longer being a Time Lord. It was obviously destroying her so we can't be upset that she's a human again. But she lost all those memories and personal growth that she worked so hard for and earned! She came such a long way and then it all vanished. She'd better be brought back to normal in the next episode. That's all I can say.
