i thought it was pretty funny without any context, but if you insist.

steph is a major animal lover. one day several years ago, on her way to work, she discovered an abandoned baby possum. it sat in a box all day while she worked, then she took it to a wildlife rescue shelter afterwards. i could tell many more stories like that. so steph loves all animals, except for monkeys. she has her “reasons,” but to me they sound like rationalizations. something to do with the fact that they are too human-like? whatever, she just doesn’t like monkeys.

the other day, i sent her a link to this video. far from being enchanted by the monkeys, steph’s reaction was: if one of those monkeys stole my drink, i’d chase it down.

they just creep me out!

those monkeys weren't as bad as some, I'm especially creeped out by chimps.

Now, if there were a life and death monkey situation, I would swallow my revulsion and save it, but I doubt I'll run into a situation like that in Tennessee, so it's pretty much a non-issue.

And the monkeys were funny, yeah, but I would still chase them off with a big stick or something. I had to punt an attack goose once to make an example of him to his goose friends who were all charging me, and I'm not afraid to punt a monkey either. Although I don't think he'd sail as far as the aforementioned goose.
