In the "Anansi changes reality to screw with Vixen" story that Dwayne McDuffie did in his Justice League run, Black Bomber actually shows up in it. He's played for "What the fuck..." laughs.

I haven't read Dwayne McDuffie's Justice League run, but I really should. I have no doubt that it's awesome. And I'm pretty sure being played for laughs is the only way Black Bomber could have been made acceptable to anyone, ever.

DC seemed to do everything within its power to derail McDuffie's run (he got taken off the book when he complained about it) and it didn't help that he was stuck with an absolutely terrible artist like Ed Benes, but the Anansi story was good enough to overcome that. I really wish I could remember which trade it was in.
