I know I am excited, nervous and stressed all at the same time. I am going to drop off $500 in cash tonight to hold the place, and then I said we can make arrangements to meet on Saturday. They want a cashier's cheque for the rest of the money then.

So deposit of: $995
+ First month's rent of: $995 to $10 hot water fee.
=$2000

So my calculations for Saturday are:

You: $1097.50
Me: $902.50 minus $500 (deposit from today)

I don't know if they are going to pro-rate next month's rent or have us rent from the 11th to the 11th. Hopefully, they will pro-rate it because if my landlady doesn't find a tenant before the 6th, I pay an extra $115 next month.

Do you want to give me the money and I'll get one cashier's cheque or do you want to get separate cheques?

Right now, it is looking like I was probably be moving the weekend of the 17th.

Whichever will be easiest for you or them; I know that the manager at Rew and Jordan's place doesn't take payments piecemeal like that, but if these folks will, it will maybe be easier that way to keep track of who has paid what...

Just to be safe for this first time, though, I think I'll get you cash so we can present them with just one cashier's check. When's the easiest to get together so I can get that to you?

And moving on the weekend of the 17th looks fine to me. Turns out Johnnie is not going to be visiting this month, so that isn't an issue anymore.

So I made a tentative appointment with John for Saturday at 11am. If that is a problem with you, we can change it. I can draw the whole cashier's cheque from my savings so we can meet earlier on Saturday or you just give it to me at the meeting (I'm pretty sure I can get to be bank by 1pm to deposit it because walking around with that much money worries me greatly).

Also, we will not be prorated so our rent with be from the 11th to the 11th, with rent due on the 11th.

Also, I hate to be nitpicky but can you add in an additional $15 to the total above. John is refunding one of the $30s I gave him for the credit checks on Saturday in cash so it would really help me out if you paid half the credit check fee. That $45 will really help me through to payday next Wednesday.

No prob.

The 11th is a weird date to remember, but on the upside it's a time when not much else comes due.

Whatever your mom told the guy when he was calling this morning to check on my references must have been what he wanted to hear, eh?

And I am _so_ looking forward to not having to wake up at five thirty in the mornings, or staying with Grandma and Popa overnight to save gas, and Morgan having her own room so I can actually use my computer after she's gone to bed... Ahh, so nice.

I hadn't dared to hope it would happen this fast, especially with this banking clusterflub lately.
