Gee, waiting in the rain for a free ice cream cone does sound like fun in a way. Glad you did something fun to break up the routine. We all need to do that.
It's nice to have a break from the routine. I feel like most people just go through the motions of the "same-old, same old." Whenever I ask anyone what's new they're like, "Nothing, just working." I feel like I always have a story to tell. May not be an exciting story, but always something new to comment on.
I wish we had a Ben and Jerry's around here, even though I'm not a big ice cream person. There's one in Harvard Square so sometimes I get my fix when I visit my sister.
I'm not a huge ice cream person myself, but I like that it speaks, to me anyway, of the warmth coming. I don't eat it in the winter time, because I'm weird like that. And yes, our lives are far too routine. That's kind of sad really. I love meeting new people for just that reason, to share and be told new stories.
Heading up your way on Thursday. Dad's second treatment is on Thursday at UNC. Carowinds is now open on the weekends, can't wait to make a trip there soon! I'd love for you to start making smaller more frequent entries, but i understand your busy!

I hope things go well for your dad as he continues with this. I'm sure you'll let us know. Yeah I want to get to writing more in here, I feel like I've let too many grad school memories pass me by without capturing them. These days are just so incredibly exhausting, for the most part. I take that as a compliment, though. Thanks.
