Oooh. I knew there was gonna be an episode where Connie has to make a decision and there's "tension on the team" but I didn't know it was the abortion ep. I am so curious now. And yay for Linus's dramatic voiceover skillz.
I loved this episode. I'm so proud of Law & Order; it really is one of the most consistently smart, well-written, and entertaining shows on TV right now. The current cast really is my favorite; they really mesh so well together, and they proved it with this episode. Spot-on. Plus, I don't think I've laughed this much in a while.
My favorite scene was definitely also the split screen. I ♥ Mike and Connie, and this scene just made my day. Every single line was perfectly delivered ("yeah, uh-huh, but first I have to tell my friend THE CAMERA what's going on!"), plus, just watching him skulk behind that pillar to watch and lie about being inside was hilarious. I just love how they're allowing them to add to their non-professional personalities this season.
BTW, first time poster, but I've been reading for a while. This is an awesome community. :)
That was a great episode! I really enjoyed it. I'm kind of surprised that no one mentioned the courtroom scene w/ septomom where she says that one big word (sorry, I can't remember it at the moment) and when Mike repeats it, she says "I had to look it up, too." I really thought that line was hilarious. And the whole split screen scene with Mike and Connie was priceless. Loved it. Last, but not least, Arthur Branch!!! I seriously burst out laughing at Jack's face when Mike told him. Then I tried to imagine Adam or Jack being a judge on a reality show and failed miserably. That is something ONLY Arthur would do. All in all, I think it was an excellent episode.
The word was "deleterious," which means harmful or injurious. Hehe, I'm pretty sure Mike knew exactly what the word meant and was just surprised to hear it coming out of her mouth. That's what it looked like to me, anyway.
I also burst out laughing at the mention of Arthur Branch, reality show judge. Definitely something only Arthur would do. Hee hee.

2. Definitely one of the best teams ever.
3. CoupleWatch09, hell yes.
4. I feel sorry for his stand-in, who said somewhere that it's hell having to mimic all of his movements because he's so damn fidgety.
5. Hehehe.
--- Aaaand I so did not see the previews for next week. DVR cut off before that. Explain!

A priest of some sort is seen being put on a stretcher.
Cop: Dr. Walter Benning, shot once in the back of the head during opening prayers.
Witness?: Dr. Benning was an abortion provider.
-- Cut to suspect
Connie: You're confessing to the murder?
Mike: No deal
Defense: They're not interested in justice.
-- Cut to Lupo and Bernard in front of protesters.
-- Cut to Cutter in court, addressing the judge
Cutter: This is unprecedented. You're opening Pandora's Box.
-- Cut to Jack's office (Sam is looking at Linus & Alana)
Connie: I can't be instructed to violate my ethics.
Cutter (voiceover, with shots of a random pensive Linus: We're dealing with an issue here that goes to the very mystery of our existence.
