Just a brief "I'm still alive" post. I've now got my PC set up properly at home, and I'm taking this coming week off work in a last ditch attempt to get my project under control. The deadline for the report is Friday 3rd, but I really need to get it finished by Monday 30th, so that I have time to get it bound. I was going to take that week off work

Hi, the binding can actually be done in 10 minutes! I got it done in that time (from a place near Holborn circus, if i recall correctly) last September.

Actually, it's printing too (although I could probably borrow the laser printers at work if needed), which will take a bit longer. I remember that last year I wound up being 10 minutes late handing it in because I took my floppy to the shop on Friday morning. Paul Sant sent around an email with some info recently, and he said that it's cheaper to give the shop a few days notice, rather than saying "I must have it in an hour!" at which point they can more or less charge whatever they like :) Anyway, probably wise to aim for Monday, in case I do overrun. Ta for the advice.

Of course it's better to aim for an earlier date, i didn't mean to advocate a last minute rush :-)

It's just that i had a good experience, binding which took next to no time and yet was good and cheap! Which makes slackers like me think one might as well 'polish' the thesis until last day, but getting it done well within time is definitely better.
