The Quantum Pint Glass: Part 1 (of 2)

Title: The Quantum Pint Glass: Part 1
Photographer/recorder of events: pixiequeen10thk
Rating: NC-17 for bad language, sexual descriptions and violence, adult themes
Pairing: the boys, non-explicit (i.e. no kissing etc) almost canon-AU McKeller
Spoilers: SG-1 3x02 (Point of View), SGA various throughout
Warnings: violence (feel free to contact me if you're worried about triggers etc), mild inebriation, cheating (not John cheating on Rodney or vice versa). McKeller pairing assasination. I tried to be as fair as possible (and avoid Keller character assasination), but it's abundantly clear how I feel about the pairing. If this is likely to really offend you then you might want to skip this one, sorry! Since it takes place in an AU from my established universe it won't interrupt the flow of the story too much. A lot longer and more serious than I intended it to be, but there is some humour there and I promise part 2 is going to be pretty much 100% laughs.
Summary: The boys find themselves in an Alternate Reality (which bears a striking resemblance to season 5 canon, or at least canon minus Woolsey because of the lack of an action figure for him)

Notes: This episode takes place between The Chair and Just Another Halloween. A list of previous epidodes can be found HERE. This one is dedicated to monkey_junkey (see notes at the end for why :)). Just in case there's any confusion, the John and Rodney from my little verse are the ones in the offworld gear.

Additional Notes:
  • The concept of the Quantum Pint Glass came from the first time I met monkey_junkey and we were goofing around with our figures in a pub. At the time we were going to make a silly story out of it, but we never got around to it and in the interim these stories of mine kind of grew longer "plots". As such it wouldn't have made much sense to use the original pictures we took. Here's a couple for your amusement :):

  • "Colonel S. Preston Esq." and "Rufus" refer to charcters from the very silly time travel movies "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey". I thought about having Rodney point out to John that it was Rufus would be no good to them as they'd travelled between realities not in time. However I felt that given the pressing need he felt to get on with his calculations, and since he'd brought up the movie in the first place, he'd be more likely just to ignore John's "idiocy". John on the other hand could not resist the baiting ;)
  • John didn't get Rodney drunk to jump him. He struggles with talking emotions and thought a beer on the pier would be a good way to begin broaching the subject with Rodney. As it turns out Rodney accidentally gave him his opening by pretty much confirming what my Rodney had told him. Despite Rodney asking how much they'd both had neither of them are actually drunk, only mildly tipsy
